Kenai Design Co., in partnership with the Alaska Hummingbird Project, is focused on monitoring and protecting Alaska Hummingbirds. Kate McLaughlin, founder of the Alaska Hummingbird Project (who makes the best salmonberry jam in the state), has teamed with us to create beautiful designs, including murals, to support these tiny travelers. Weighing no more than a nickel, the Rufous Hummingbird is one of North America’s smallest migrators, flying from Alaska to winter destinations as far as Central America in search of nectar and insects. Sadly, their numbers have dropped by half in recent decades due to habitat loss and a rapidly changing environment. With more awareness and conservation efforts, we aim to help Kate and other hummingbird experts turn this situation around!

A portion of product sales proceeds goes towards Kate’s hummingbird conservation efforts. Help us continue the magical migrations of the smallest aviator birds known to North America.
