Kenai Design Co., and partners are proud to be a founding contributor to this cause. The Chinook Salmon, the king of the salmon species, plays a key role in the ecosystem as well as the economy of Alaska for commercial and sports fishing alike. Native to the North Pacific Ocean and river systems of western North America, King Salmon have been hastily disappearing, and the Kenai River is no exception. There is no single culprit for this situation and further work is required to determine the root causes and advance practical solutions before it is too late. Our flagship design symbolizes the Kenai King Salmon life cycle originating in the Kenai River and the migratory journey through Cook Inlet and the greater Pacific Ocean to eventually return home. Kenai Design Co. has partnered with The Kenai Watershed Forum and other organizations and individuals that aspire to create public awareness and cultivate a unified vision across all impacted stakeholders. It is time to put differences aside and rise in solidarity through grassroots efforts to save this species and build a long-term plan for human and king salmon coexistence. We contribute funds through product sales to spread our message and cultivate advocacy efforts.
